COURSE STRUCTURE

The certificate course consists of 48 taught hours, (across 9 days, over 3 months) equates 25 hours home study, plus 2 peer group session and placement practice outside of the course.

(75 hours plus placement practice hours*).

This course will be delivered wholly online.

Students are required to provide a confidential space in which to engage in experiential work online during the course.

Assessment

Assessment is via portfolio which will include:

  • ongoing peer feedback

  • self and peer assessment

  • non-directive reflections, empathic responding

  • tutor feedback

  • empathic responding

  • evidence of practice

  • image work and reflections

  • personal statement evidencing personal development (self awareness and creativity)

  • Students must be able to arrange to practice away from the course in a client/work setting – if unsure please call to discuss.

  • Students must provide evidence of appropriate supervision.

COURSE CONDITIONS

  • An attendance rate of 80% is required to complete the course

  • Art materials: for online courses students will need to provide their own art materials

  • Practice opportunity: students are responsible for arranging opportunity to practice skills away from the course (if unsure please call to discuss)

  • Supervision: students are responsible for arranging their own supervision

ACCEPTANCE ON THE COURSE

  • Cost: £850

  • Places are offered on the course only after a successful interview and after suitable references have been received.

  • Includes membership of APCCA until May 2021
