Training News - welcoming students to Spain!

Things have been hectic, to be honest chaotic, for APCCA training and for me personally over the last 18 months as I have been living through what has felt like an episode of A Place in the Sun!

I relocated to Spain and now live in a beautiful small town on the Costa Brava, 30 minutes from Girona and 45 minutes north of Barcelona in an old-ish house 5 minutes walk from the beach which we are renovating. It has tons of space, amazing views, secret doorways, a pool (not yet working!) and it even has a proper lift! A big part of moving here was to create a space for training and workshops, in an environment that is full of nature and can support mental and emotional health. And I am super excited that I will be holding the introduction in person in my new space in September and already have one student signed up!

Renovating a house isn’t easy, and the moment we are busy creating a garden, an outdoor space for working creatively, and converting the garage into a studio space for teaching and workshops. The space will be much bigger than I had in Brentwood, and I can’t wait to start teaching there! Work on the house is progressing, but there is still so much to do. This week we had air conditioning installed in a couple of rooms - a real necessity in the summer heat - and the pool renovation should be finished this week so we can also cool off in there. On my wish list is a proper kitchen with appliances that work! An outdoor cinema (not very likely!!), a gym area, a vegetable garden and a fire pit. I’m not sure how much of this will be achievable but it’s always good to dream big.

Below you can see the town and one of the beaches, along with some before and after photos of my office and the view from my front room (what a change!) and some of the fruit from my trees.

I am planning to hold some creative arts weekend workshops in my new space this year, and will be holding the diploma week long intensive here in Spain too. Several of my APCCA tutors have already come to visit and they are as excited as me and are looking forward to joining me to teach some of the courses and workshops here in Spain. In the meantime the introduction, certificate and advanced certificate will continue to be held online.

Moving to Spain has been challenging, but it has been fun too. Spain has inspired my creativity, and I hope it will inspire and nourish everyone who comes to my new home. I am so excited about this new chapter and can’t wait to welcome students here at my home in Spain.
